Well in the beginning of this week when he gave us the group quiz to do, I freaked out because I of course didn't use common sense and read the story only the pages that were on the syllabus. So when I got back home I read the story I thought it was really interesting. In the list of questions on the quiz I enjoyed answering the question about if it were a good idea that he ran away? I thought if he went to the right place I think it would be a good idea for him for example the military especially since he has a drive for guns.
And today in class when we discussed the poems we read I thought it was interesting to hear the different view points of how people interpreted the poems especially the Phillis poem, how someone saw it was being sarcastic.
But my favorite poems were still I rise, Madam to her Madam, and I too sing America. They all sort of were similar that spoke about class and racial issues.

I fraked out to when he assigned the quiz in class! I didn't read the story as well and thought it was wierd that he only assigned the biography pages. And I also love the "I Still Rise" poem. It was really amazing!
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of you! I flipped at first, but luckly he realized the mistake and fixed it! That was awesome of him to do that! I also agree with the still I rise poem. I think that was the most up beat and incouraging poem we read. The idea that no one can make it alone and we all need someone was really well written.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the idea that we all need companionship is so true. If I had one wish for the world it would be that no one ever had to be alone!
